As every year, we the LUGBZ was once again right at the heart of the South Tyrol Free Software Conference (SFSCON). Since the very first edition back in 2001, our association has been part of this great event — which has now become the biggest gathering for open source enthusiasts in Italy.
And once again, it was all about free software, fresh ideas, and inspiring discussions — and of course, the highlight: the SFS Awards!
The South Tyrol Free Software Conference (SFSCON) is back for 2025, and LUGBZ is proud to be present once again! This year, we’ll be showcasing our work at our stand and presenting the SFS-Awards, celebrating outstanding contributions to the Free Software community.
This year’s event will explore key topics such as digital innovation, surveillance and censorship, usability and inclusivity, and the impact of emerging technologies on society. Whether you’re a developer, designer, or advocate for open-source solutions, there’s something for everyone at SFSCON 2025.

At the last meeting of the board we decided for the future:
— to hold it’s traditional monthly meetings “only online” (*), but to organize additionally monthly meetings “in presence” open to all interested members.

Bei der letzten Vorstandssitzung haben wir beschlossen, ab Oktober:
— die formellen monatlichen Vorstandssitzungen “nur online” zu machen (*), aber zusätzlich auch monatliche Treffen “in Präsenz” zu organisieren, offen für alle interessierten Mitglieder.

All’ultimo incontro del direttivo abbiamo deciso, a partire da ottobre:
— di svolgere gl’incontri formali mensili del direttivo “solo online” (*), ma di prevedere mensilmente un ulteriore incontro “in presenza”, invitando tutti i soci interessati a partecipare.
